We’re a Maine family business and we personally design and build every Hobbit Hole we sell. The majority of the wood used in our products is sustainably harvested by small woodcutting businesses in our community, and milled at a sawmill just down the road from our workshop. We pride ourselves on sourcing materials from local businesses as much as possible, and there is very little waste in our production process.

Melissa and Rocy both grew up in the tiny rural town of Unity, Maine without ever knowing one another until Rocy was doing some carpentry work at Melissa's parents' house and she impressed him with her denim overalls when she was home from college one weekend. Fast forward fifteen years and they now have a classic unfinished carpenter's house they built together, two of the cutest little boys you'll ever meet, and they're the world's only Hobbit Hole design and manufacturing firm. Oh, and they live one town away from where they grew up, in Thorndike, but they still tell people they're from Unity.
